ensuite update...almost done!

well the demo was all done over the weekend,
its already to go on the Wednesday after Cup Day
those floor tiles were a total pain to get off...
a lot harder than the other bathroom

so this is it so far,
jus the shower screen to go up,
that's happening tomorrow!
then we just need to paint,
put up the new towel rail, hand towel ring and toilet roll holder
and finally the new mirror
everything is working,
except the shower (no screen yet),
will be so  happy to move back into my own bathroom!

we still have flooding around the area,
this is Yarra Glen about 10 minutes from us (racecourse),
under water again!
it is starting to dry up, but boy does it SMELL!!!!
haven't had dahlias for years, but this one said take me home,
so I did!

my very last waratah for this year

this little guy was being attacked by the dog next door,
so we went and rescued him/her and put him/her in our yard where they were safe..
haven't seen him/her since
and this cute birdie followed me home from the nursery where we had lunch last weekend

hope you're getting to do some things that you enjoy!

I'm exhausted!

My lilacs are in full bloom again,
the scent coming in the sewing room window is divine!
Picked a heap, and gave a couple of bunches away...
my roses are coming out,
thought this yellow one (can't remember the name) was the first,
but turns out it wasn't!

this one beat it!
This is Ebb Tide,
a gorgeous David Austin rose in a very deep purple,
smells divine.
and finally my weekend was spent demolishing the ensuite!
So I say goodbye to the trend of 22 years ago,

and next week (after Cup Day) we start to say hello to the new ensuite...
it's going to be quite simple and plain,
blue/grey white washed floor tiles that look like boards,
plain white vanity and top, chrome sink mixer,
plain white tiles on walls with a simple chrome/white/clear skinny feature tile,
and a chrome framed shower screen,
the walls will be painted a lovely soft grey to match in with the tiles.
watch this space, I'll try to update as its done.

flowers

well the weather has been a little wet and wild again this week,
I went to my hairdressers on Friday, it was raining quite a bit,
by the time I left (around 30-40 mins later) this is what her front yard looked like!
there was around 6inches of water running through the garden!
these beautiful flowers were gifted to me by a client!
the scent of the rose is just amazing!
it was our wedding anniversary on Thursday and hubs surprised me with some flowers!
(hehe I gave him his favourite chocolate)
and some more beauties out of my garden!

and the cherry tree has loads of blossoms
fingers crossed they all set,
and the birds don't get them!

busy as a bee in Spring

well this post is very photo heavy...it Spring after all
(I have only put up a few flower photos, you would all be bored if I put them all up!)
so to start off with a quick snack...
Lemon Slice
must make another the lemon tree is starting to groan!
picked up some bargains from Aldi recently,
always wanted one of those cute little travel irons.
now I do!

I have just added some new stock to my Etsy store
introducing my newest line,
postcards!
only 2 different designs at present, but more to come
my orchids have been stunning again this year,
so I have bought some inside to enjoy

talk about 4 seasons in one day!
sunshine, rain, rainbow, cold, warm in the sun...don't blink it will change!

a visit to my favourite place for a couple of days R & R
and my waratahs have been showing off..
mine aren't as spectacular as some area here, but they will do...
enjoying some of them inside along with the orchids.

Is it Spring yet?

Well I don't know about you, but I'm over Winter!
Bring on the sunshine!
Not much here at the moment, so these beauties will have to do.
my mini daffs have gone ballistic this year
think I will need to divide all the clumps soon..

this was the last time we had sun...a week ago!
we have so much rain this week, the rivers have flooded
(yes these are flood waters, and no you can't drive through them, they are paddocks)
locals call this Lake Healesville when it floods, the road was raised many years ago as every time the river flooded the town was cut off, which also cut off a lot of smaller communities further along, or you would have to travel an extra couple of hours to go over to the towns over the Black Spur.

a little bit of quilting has been happening...
I have decided that some of my errr...older unfinished tops need to be done!

these were very easy and very yummy
Maple Banana Muffins...
next time I make them I will be adding more cinnamon and nuts/chocolate bits
these little guys were on the window ledge of a clients house...
when I was little I had a farm game and had something very similar...
memories!

not much happening here!

well it's been a little while since my last post and a few things have happened...
that new job finished....wasn't the place for me...
so on to a new adventure which hopefully starts next week, training starts at the end of this week,
I'll keep you posted!
As I always say, one door slams shut, another one opens!

this little guy is becoming quite the visitor!
can be hand fed, but only seems to like me, flies off when hubby or daughter come outside.
I'm sure he sits in the trees down the back and watches as I can be in the kitchen and he will land on the railing, will sit there for ages too.
And the magpies get jealous so they come and land on the railing to see what's going on, had 2 kookies and 3 maggies on the weekend, plus another maggie on the ground.
discovered a Bower bird bower during the week, right outside my bedroom window,
such pretty birds, but I believe they love fruit and veggies patches!

some lovely fungi found while cutting back the roses last weekend.

we've had some pretty good frosts the last couple of weeks,
crispy leaves!

and this was the progress on my quilt (from attending my last zoom sewing day with Chookyblue and the girls)
and this is the completed flimsy, on to quilting soon.
wish AusPost had such pretty stamps, this one from the USA
some baking was done,
had to do a taste test!

hope you have all managed to do some sewing or other things you like to do...

back soon!
