SSCS 2009 to .......

2018 SSCS
well this year unfortunately and due to circumstances beyond all of our control there was no swapping...
however there was a secret gift giving to our courageous leader...
this is what I sent her

sorry about the quality of this photo
(pinched it from Donnas blog as I forgot to take a photo!)
Merry Christmas all!

2017 SSCS
Thank you Chookyblue for organising another great swap this year
 a gorgeous wall hanging
close up of the beautiful stitching
when the present arrived we were allowed to open the ornies straight away...
2 lovely wool felt hearts,
now hanging on the wallunit
thank you to Marcia from Sweden who I'm pretty sure was my sender

2016 SSCS
well another year has passed by...and so quickly again it's SSCS time!
thanks Chookyblue for another wonderful swap...
My partner this year was Raewyn in NZ,
I sent these gifts to her.
 and her cute little ornie!
and my partner was the lovely Laila from Jacob's Quilt
these are the gorgeous gifts  I received.

and the ornie!

thank you Chookyblue for another fantastic swap!
I know that I enjoy this one each year as do many other ladies across the globe,
it is always exciting and you never know who you will get or who gets you,
there have been many friendships made because of this swap.
Hope it continues for many years!

2015 SSCS
I joined in Chookyblue's SSCS again this year....
this is what I sent to Martina in Switzerland
and these are the cute snow heads I sent for the ornies...
and this is what I received from the lovely Alexandra from Germany

a gorgeous bag, just perfect for a weekend away sewing or going to a sewing session,
and the cutest little ornies!
The house one will be staying out all year long...
and the heart one is just perfect!
thank you to Chookyblue and her helper Janice for another stellar year,
thank you to my partners for the giving and receiving of more beautiful gifts..
so lucky to have wonderful like minded people in my life!

2014 SSCS
sadly this year I won't be in the SSCS as I missed the deadline to signup...
instead I will be doing something just for me,
the Lucy Boston bug has hit,
so I intend to make myself a 9 block table throw,
whether I get it all finished is another matter,
but I would like to have all of the blocks completed by Christmas...

updated January 2015
 the completed blocks,
not sure of the layout yet,
but I am liking the one above,
I will decide once the sashings are all done.
2 blocks with completed sashings,
don't they look different!

updated October 2015
all nine blocks finished with sashings,
now to decide on squares and cornerstones.
 starting to join them together.
Next to decide is the connecting squares,
have a dark brown, light brown, mustard and a grey,
leaning towards the grey.

 all sewn together....
around the centre I used leftover pieces for the 4 squares
in all the other squares I used this lovely TOT grey with a tiny dash of black and red

my cornerstones I decided to use these gorgeous flowers,
made 2 1/2" squares and one of my prints had some lovely border patterns that fitted in pretty well,
very happy with how these pieces came together!

I am going to applique the top onto a beautiful steel grey solid that I found,
that compliments the colours beautifully!
Then backing, quilting and binding to come

more updates to follow

Lovely items coming and going. I see I'm not the only one who can't always remember - a few years seems like decades sometimes. Lovely blog.
