here it is!

 

all finished and given to my friend today.

This was our last day working together after 8 years...

 

she made this amazing cake to share with us...

she is the Thursday morning tea cake provider...

it was delish...

sadly now we will need to find someone else to make our cakes for Thursday mornings...



reminiscing...

just scrolling back thru my blog having a look,
and at my pages tabs at some of the swaps I've been in,
recalling beautiful gifts sent and received...
the things I use often, like my heart pot holders,
the lovely star placemats...
and thinking about ones I have sent and thinking I would like to revisit them with ones for myself,
so I think the To Do list has just become a little longer!

all the machine applique is done...

 

(found that I really don't like machine applique very much, 

 quick results,

 but I like the smoother finish of needleturn).

hopefully will get most of the quilting done tomorrow,

nothing like a deadline to get you motivated!

working on this one for another work colleague who is retiring in a couple of weeks time.

sorry I'm such a bad blogger these days!
ok, working on a secret squirrel project so no piccies of that!
but this is what I made for one of the girls from work who is retiring after 50 years in pharmacy!

this weekend is a LOOOONG weekend in Victoria, so hopefully I will be getting some stitching time somewhere along the way...

bit of an update

 working on a farewell present for a collague that is retiring soon

 disappearing 9 patch in colour combo outside of my comfort zone!

 quick trip to Spotlight day and these followed me home....really!

 ok that's the top completed...

very happy with how it has turned out...

used a lovely tone on tone grey with a very fine print for the rest of the sashing squares,

now for the border

thinking about using this dark grey and appliqueing the blocks to it,

then either heavy quilting in the grey or

some applique with some of the remaining fabrics...

haven't got much left so some big decisions to come!
