Drought!

it affects ALL of us...

some sooner than others...

Our farmers are doing it tough!

we all need to help get the pollies talking about this very important issue, 

and ways that they the farmers can be helped...

feed prices are sky rocketing!

stock are dying..

(I won't show the photo here, but pop on over to Chooky's)

In the above photo, that's her hubby standing in the BOTTOM of one of their dams, 

see that line of bushes way above his head....

that's where the water line should be!

No we can't change Mother Nature....

but we sure can all help out our Farmers, 

because without them, 

everytime YOU go to the supermarket YOU won't be buying MEAT or FRESH VEGIES or FRUIT, 

as there won't be any from Aussie farmers...

AND 

YOU won't be able to afford them, because prices WILL rise!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

 pop on over to ChookyBlue's blog and have a look at how tough our farmers are doing this drought!

We need to help them in anyway we can, speak to your local politican...

you elected him or her, get in their ear and make them aware of how their voice can help ....

because it's actually YOUR voice!

speak to your local newspaper editior, 

friends, 

family, 

get the word out...

our farmers need help and NOW!!!

show your support and do a post to spread the word.

so now it's time to tell you a little about me

My name is Julie, but most people call me Julz, 

 I love quilting, stitcheries, making cloth dolls, especailly angels snowmen and Santa's,

and playing with fabric in general, 

have dabbled with knitting and crochet over the years, 

I enjoy photography, 

but my first love is quilting!

I have a little online business called Simple Stitches, 

I have designed a small range of patterns for different skill levels, 

these are available over on Craftsy under my shop Simple Stitches. 

(now I have that out the way) 

most of my blog is about sharing a little of what goes on behind the scenes here at Simple Stitches central, 

so you will get to see what I'm currently working on, swaps I might be in, photos I've taken, my girls, funny bits and pieces. 

I love blogland, there are soooo many talented ladies out there, 

willing to share their time, talent and experiences...

I have made many friends thru my blog and hope that I make a few more, 

some I will get to meet in person, 

some I probably never will, 

but we are all joined thru out love of fabric

and what we can do with it.

I love gemstones and this gorgeous piece took my fancy when we were out shopping the other day. 

It's called Picture Jasper

 (sometimes called Brown Jasper)

although doing some research they are two different types of Jasper.

we took about 10 ten out of the tops,

I hope that 2014 is everything that we wish for!

we didn't have anything planned, it was going to be a quiet night...

one of our neighbours came over to ask what we were doing, 

nothing I said, 

well come and do nothing with us and have a few drinks, 

so we did!

Had a really good night, 

think there may be more 

doing nothing, come on over parties!
