Almost Monday again...

Hi all,
well the weekend has flashed by again, and NO SEWING!!!!!

YD had a birthday party on Saturday and a sleepover (only one little extra person)...and Sunday's grand plans of sewing ALL day went out the window when DH asks "Can you just hold this light, so I can see what I'm doing?" (playing with the car...well a small leak...needs investigating....)

Yeah, right....3 hours later, still no reason for the leak and Sunday is almost over....time to start on the tea!!!

aww well, there's always next weekend...

today is my YD's birthday!!!
Eleven years old....where does the time go?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY YD!!!!

Lots of presents to open. Special dinner tonight, her favourite, lasagne, YUM, followed by ice cream cake.

Weekend is Over :(

Well the weekend has disappeared again, and back into another working week....what happened....why do the weekends go so fast?

Anyway, I didn't get the bag done (from the tutorial below), but there is always NEXT weekend!

But I did get the birdie applique finished...
I had to finish it as a wall hanging, cos I stuffed up
the size of the block (next time I make it hopefully
it will be right...)but I think it still looks pretty
good as a WH instead of a table throw as
planned....

I even mitred the corners on the stripe fabric!
Did that take a while, cos I hadn't done that
for such a long time....the brain wasn't coping too
well.













And just for something a little different, let me introduce my staffy Jake!




My MD (Diva!) pinched my camera and was
taking snaps of EVERYTHING and ANYTHING
that got in the way...
most got deleted but there were a few funny
photos too.













I think Jake got a little camera shy here!















Take care until next post! It's raining here again!!!! A little sunshine would be really nice, more than a week of rain, drizzle and cold is enough, just one day of sun! then it can do more of the wet stuff, cos we really do need it.

Bag Tutorial

Hi all,
just having a look through my emails and clicked into a store that shows customers things they have made, anyway found this great looking bag! It is made using a tutorial on Andrea's blog, it looks very quick and easy. Great instructions, so check it out.

I think that's what I might try to do this weekend.

Getting back to Andrea's blog, wow! what a talented lady, her quilts are just gorgeous, especially love the batik one....yum.

the latest edition of TCCT is out now, check out out!

This week has been cold and wet, some very much needed rain has fallen. That's always welcome, as it means more time inside sewing!!!!.......ooops, except I was working, boo hoo!

Today I will try to make up for that.....the crafty girls group I belong to are headed over here for some sewing, plenty of laughing.......(usually more than sewing)....and lunch. I think soup and hot rolls are on the menu today. Quick and easy.

On the home front, boy!!! has it been cold and wet here. Yesterday we even had snow on the very nearby hill...you could see it from the lounge window...couldn't take a pic, it was only a little snow.
It was a wonderful day just sitting inside and sewing...Love it! Lovely and toasty warm by the blazing wood fire....DH even made me a yummy hot chocolate during the afternoon....

I've popped this link on for Lynettes free stitchery, I have been trying to get it onto the sidebar, but it's not liking that . So it will have to stay here until I work it out.

Any way, go check out her stitcheries, they are so cute....I've put them on my TO DO list, that seems to be getting longer and longer as the days go by...I think I need to live to be 150 and still will have things on the list to do!!! Ahhh well, can never say that I'm bored...

Cleaned up the sewing room today, by moving stuff from one side of the room to the other...don't quite know if that's cleaning up or not! Organised chaos I think is a better term. One day I will do it all properly, I just need more time and more boxes, shelves and storage....wouldn't that be lovely.

I've been working on a couple of new ideas, sneek peeks going up soon!
