 all quilted and bound!
even tried out some free motion quilting in the middle...
supposed to represent the sun...
what do you think?
bit wonky but it is my first attempt apart from a practise piece I did...

second part is being worked on with the third part still in the planning stage!
stay tuned....

yesterday part 3

some beuatiful examples of stitchery and piecing

this one was all blanket stitch applique, stunning on the black background

only small, but stunning!

more applique but on a mottled background...

some beautiful needleturn applique

this one really caught my eye..yes I'm a purple girl but the workmanship was beautiful!

 one of my favourites!
this one was something different, the colours didn't scream at you and they blended in when standing close, as you moved away the pattern really took shape...lovely!

the workmanship in this was stunning, tiny tiny stitching! really beautiful work

on my wish list of to do's .... a giant dahlia this one was a bit different as the centre was a dresden plate....

and my favourite for the day.....

yesterday part 2

the lovely Jo of Sewjo Designs... her  new design is lovely! and yes Jo you have 3 weeks...I'm counting!

Karen with her unique headband!

the lovely Leanne and the gorgeous Gail

plus there were a couple more I didn't get photos of...great to see you all again

I attended Mrs Martin's Quilt show in Monbulk...
this was the sunrise that greeted us...just had to stop for a photo!

this was about the only sun except for one very bright moment right before it bucketed down as we were packing up!

there were so many people waiting in line before the opening.
the sun wasn't shining too much, but it wasn't raining either.

the stall all set up...

met up with some online friends...
looked at the wonderful display of quilts...
there are so many talented ladies out there
beautiful....(photos to come)
time for packing up about 3pm as there weren't many people around by this stage...

and of course the heavens opened!
yes we all looked like drowned rats....
but all in all a good day spent with lots of like minded girls (and a few blokes as well)

I'll pop more photos up so that each post isn't so long...
