some finishes and almost finishes....

Well I started this post this morning at 6.30am and here I am finishing it at 8.30pm!!!!
What a day....I don't think I want another one like it for a while!
Crashed computers....all day mind you!
Everything done by hand...
that's just not funny in pharmacy
(especially when you are learning something new, like I am at the moment...)

OK enough whinging...onto the reason for this post...
these cute little coffee table or dresser runners...

all quilted and ready to go.

remember that bag of scraps?
Well the stitcheries were inside a book that came with the bag...
just had to finish a couple...
lucky that Jac and I stitch fairly much alike!
The rest I have just put together with colours that I like and a bit of fiddling to get it balanced...
now I just need to find the time to actually quilt it....
was thinking of doing it with perle cotton like a few others are at the moment....
but just depends on whether I can make that time commitment to it...or simple machine quilting

and this one is from the same series...
I just decided that a small wall hanging would set it off better than trying to put it all together,
and making the other one look to fussy and big.....

so that was my day...hope tomorrow is a bit calmer and more productive (in every sense)

take care

Pics from the Quilt Show

Ok first off is a wagga quilt...
each block had embroidery stitching around it,
and 3D flowers, bees, and even a dragonfly (don't think I got that in the pic)

a lovely example of Cinderberry Stitches Tail Feathers....

this cute mouse was a small part of a quilt that depicted mice doing all quilty things...
(sorry rest of the photos were too blurry..)

the stitching on this was lovely...
not my cup of tea colour wise, a bit too bright...but still very nice,

this hexagon quilt was excellent...
most of the blocks had been fussy cut so that the flowers were flowers....
this one was the best example

this was just lovely too..
sorry about the photo...
just couldn't get a good shot...
was in a bit of a darkish corner...

a stunning quilt featuring Leanne's House
(can't remember the name for the life of me....let me know if you do)

and this one won Viewers Choice...
sorry could only get a shot of the top corners...
too many people and every time someone tried to take a photo, someone else would stand in the way....was happening to all who were taking photos...
the quilting was beautiful...

and that's it....

sorry for some of the shonky photos, but guess who forgot her camera!!!!!

take care

new addittion

yeah, yeah...I know I'm late!!!!

been working an extra day at the pharmacy,
as we have 2 people off with injuries...and 1 on holidays
plus doing most of my other usual "stuff" ....
sometimes really wish that Tatts ticket would come true......keep dreaming.

OK enough griping...

My website is turning 1 on the weekend (March 20th)
so I need to really start thinking about some celebrations!!!!

Still trying to get those photos off my phone!!
took them to work,
into the photo kiosk thingy,
there are NO photos on the memory card....
where the *&%$#@ were they?????

didn't know that I had to save them there...

on my old phone they went there all by themselves....not this one!
think I may have the problem licked today
(we'll see...the lack of sleep is starting to catch up with me!!!!)

now I'm off to peg out the washing, go to badminton, get some shopping, have lunch and maybe just maybe do some crafting!!!!!

enjoy your day how ever you spend it...

I've been to....

the Monbulk Quilt Show that Karen organised.

(sorry no pics of the show itself...forget my camera and had to use my phone....
and guess who can't get the
#@$#$@$# photos off the phone on to the computer with bluetooth?????
so you will just have to wait til after work on Monday, when I take them and put them onto a disk!!!!
yes just a tiny bit annoyed here....can't you tell... only played with it for an hour before giving up!

you can stop laughing now girls!!!

so instead I will show you my showbags....
(yes you only get one each, but I took 2 of my girls and I stole theirs!!!! cos they won't use them)

and my very small purchases... my lucky dip (2 patterns and a FQ), some perle cotton, and yummy cottage garden threads...
been hearing so much about these I thought it time to get some!

so until I get my photos off my phone....
cheers for now
Julz

PS Lovely to catch up with you Cath, we will definitely have to make a coffee date, finally found Robyn too!

Where has......

the weekend gone too?
It was a long weekend here in Victoria, and it's just disappeared!

Went to the Healesville Market on Sunday,
I think the weather made a lot of people rethink coming out to visit...
it was very quiet
(all those storms, flash floods and hail in the 'burbs)

we had some lovely soaking rain, a bit heavy at times but nothing like in Melbourne and the surrounding suburbs.

Today it's off to work again....
trying to finish off a few UFOs over the weekend too...
getting there (will show when finished),
working on a couple of bunnies, and some dollies.....

lots of ideas with little time to do the doing!
Oh well, one day....

take care

Tomorrow is....

Market Day...
if you are in Healesville, come and say HI....

It's on at the Healesville Racecourse,
Healesville Kinglake Rd,
right opposite the RACV Country Club
9am to 2pm

click on the highlighted name above and a google map will pop up.
There are loads of great things to do,
visit the markets (there's 2 on Sunday...the racecourse and the community one)
check out some of the local wineries, visit some great shops, have a coffee at one of the many coffee shops or bakeries, go visit the friendly folk at Healesville Sanctuary, buy some handmade chocolate from the shop in the main street, visit the lolly shop, check out the local artist galleries.....

(sounds a bit like an advert for the place...)

for more of what to see and do in Healesville,
visit the Tourist Info Centre (just next door to the Police Station)

cheers Julz
